I started my way as a programmer when I was 11 years old, at first I learned C++ in the university (in a gifted education program, look here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gifted_education#Enrichment if you don't know what is it), I've got an advanced level but I didn't like the C++ way of coding so I moved to Visual Basic. I created some small games and utilities, and some programs for business clients.
I first started working with websites since I was 13 years old, thereat, I was really fascinated by the idea of having my own website.
When I was 15 I started to work with PHP for my class's site (which later became schools's site with an E-Learning system), this was my first respectable project. I'm an autodidact (self-taught person) so I learned PHP relatively fast. while developing this site I've also learned all the basics of MySQL, and localization process.
In the meanwhile, every now and then I was reading about something, fascinated and then go to learn and then use it. Afterwards, I published myself as a webmaster and join to the real world. In this stage I learned a lot about web development, security, audience research & visitors tracking, SEO, SPAM fighting, etc.
Currently, I'm working on improving my knowledge of MySQL to professional level, I'm also taking part in the web conferences of 'MySQL AB' (the last conference was about "Performance and Benchmarking" - my favorite topic).
I'm part of the (unofficial) Israeli MyBB team, we give support for hebrew users and work on the hebrew translation of MyBB.
Currently, I'm developping in those technologies \ techniques :
- Development >>> PHP, MySQL, Ajax, .htaccess
- Design >>> valid xhtml & css, Flash, unique design
- WAP >>> developement of simple UI for cellphones
- Give emphasis to security and optimization
- Search engines optimization
